The Robertsons to Mexico
Giving the Light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard
The Lord brought Chris and Elizabeth
together at Liberty Baptist Church in Las
Vegas, NV.  They both  graduated from
Pensacola Christian College, but had never
met each other there.  After graduation, Chris
stayed to get a Masters and Elizabeth went
to work in the Christian school at
Liberty
Baptist Church.  After completing his
Masters, Chris became a Pastoral intern at
Liberty Baptist Church.
God had put the burden of missions on both
of their hearts even before they met.  Chris
had felt the call of the Lord upon his life to
be in full-time ministry as early as 11th grade.
Since high school, Elizabeth had also wanted to serve the Lord in ministry.  While interning at
Liberty Baptist Church, God firmly showed Chris and Elizabeth that to be church planters in
Mexico was His will for their lives.
After  being married on June 15, 2002, they went out on deputation.  In a 10-month time, the
Lord allowed the Robertsons to find a great support team of churches, friends and family
supporting them not only financially, but also with prayers.   After deputation, they headed to
Costa Rica to study Spanish at a Spanish institute for a year.  In Costa Rica, their first child,
Joshua Enrique, was born.  After leaving Costa Rica, they spent a year working in Mexico with
the Mellbergs who graciously helped the Robertsons get accustomed to being missionaries, the
culture and the language.  During their first year in Mexico, the Robertsons had their second
child, Ashley Marie.  After working with the Mellbergs, the Robertsons moved to Ixtlán del Río
and have been living there ever since.  Their third child, David Tate, was also born in Mexico.
